The river is a second view of the vale. Trees, clouds, sun and moon appear beneath the bank, but the water never holds them perfectly still.

Following the light

As the light crosses the sky, the reflected scene changes with it. Warm daylight gives way to dusk and moonlight; the silhouettes above the bank remain recognisable below it. Gentle movement breaks up the mirror while keeping the sky and trees readable.

The forest reflection follows an accelerated sun, dusk and moon cycle.

This clip moves through the day quickly so you can compare the light. It is the game’s current river rendering, captured in the same scene throughout.

Where the drops land

Rain changes the surface itself. The reflected forest becomes duller as the shower strengthens, while falling drops finish in small splashes and widening, flattened rings on the water. The marks belong to the same rain moving through the scene above.

A shower strengthens over the river, darkening the reflection while raindrops strike the surface and spread into small rings.

The aim is a river that belongs to the weather: quieter under a clear sky, restless beneath a shower, and still readable when the world grows dark.
