The fire has slipped out of sight behind the trees. At the screen's edge, a little winged soul points toward it. Bring the fire back into view and the guide becomes a crown of light above it.

Ghosthold's guides now feel a little more at home among its souls. These development examples use staged camera moves and building placement, with the new guides running in the game.

A winged soul points right toward an unseen fire, then becomes a crown above the fire as the camera brings it into view.

A light at the edge of the woods

The wings point left or right when your destination is off screen. Once it comes into view, the crown marks the place itself. A clear prompt below tells you the next step and how to act: here, light the fire and hold E.

Light and particles move through the crown beside a snowy archer building, above the prompt to craft an archer tool.

Something living in the light

Warm light travels through the centre. Small particles drift along the sides, and the whole shape gently floats. A dark rim keeps the pale soul readable against branches, stone and snow.

A winged soul points left through the dark woods, then becomes a crown above the lit fire; the prompt reads Night, shelter by the fire.

A way back when night falls

The guide follows what the settlement needs, from awakening a soul to preparing tools and building defences. When night calls you back to the fire, the wings turn homeward and the prompt changes with them.

There is still plenty to discover beyond the trees. Now there is a little soul to help you find the next step.
