Something heavier is coming through the trees. Nineteen selected enemy designs now have their own movement, attacks and reactions, from the small Bone Rake to the towering Crownless.

These staged woodland previews show the new artwork used in the game, with actions arranged for a closer look.

Bone Rake, Chain Ripper and Hollow Archer demonstrate walking, running, a second attack and carrying a fragment in a woodland clearing.

New shapes in the dark

New enemy types join the waves with the Wraithmoons. They walk, run, recoil, scream and fall in their own shapes. The rare enemies have a second attack, and stolen fragments stay in their hands as they escape.

Grave Butcher, Crownless and Shard Fiend demonstrate portal emergence, attacks, a scream and their lightning phase in the woods.

One last fight

Each area remembers one boss chosen from ten. When its final rift reaches the last stage, that enemy emerges. Closing the rifts is only part of clearing the area: the boss must fall too.

Elites have a third attack. Below half strength, their bodies change colour and lightning crawls across the same armour and cloth as the fight continues.
